Wondering where to go for your next vacation? North Florida is a wonderful place to visit! It is filled with many fun activities that the whole family can enjoy – no matter what city you visit. From Saint Augustine, the nation’s oldest city, to Tallahassee, the state’s capital, there is fun to be had for everyone.

In North Florida you will find a lot of activities to do. The cities are abundant with life, and that is something everyone can appreciate – from the college seekers to the party goers. You can stop by Florida State University and cheer for the Seminoles during a football game. Or you can go to Jacksonville Beach and parasail. In Tallahassee you can visit one of many interesting museums. Or, for those truly looking for a once in a life time vacation memory, drive down to the Keys and go Florida skydiving in Key West.

Skydiving Florida is a truly wonderful and unique way to get an amazing view of the North Florida coastline. Nerves aside, there is nothing comparable to the feeling you get when you literally glide through the air, viewing the beaches and the towns in their entirety from a spectacular bird’s eye view. Skydiving in Florida is a surprisingly accessible sport; it’s for everyone who is brave at heart, no matter their age.

If you take a trip to Saint Augustine, Florida, you might be surprised to find out that it is the nation’s oldest city. Because of that, it is known as the “ancient city,” but its activities are hardly ancient. There are over 43 miles of beaches along Saint Augustine’s coast, and each beach offers something different. Some allow dogs while others do not. Some have nothing but pristine white sand, while others are good for shell collecting. One landmark in Saint Augustine does live up to the “ancient city” tagline, and that is Fort Matanzas. Fort Matanzas is a watchtower that was built by the Spanish in the 1740s.

Maybe Tallahassee, Florida, is more your style. It is the state’s capital; it is filled with many fascinating museums, not the least of which is the Museum of Florida History. Or you can visit the Mission San Luis de Apalachee; the Mission San Luis was the capital of Spanish Florida from the 1650s to the early 1700s. It has been literally brought back to life – the buildings have been reconstructed and the residents are costumed actors. There are archeology displays and museum exhibits so that you and the kids can learn what life was like in Florida back in the 1650s. For the man in your family, the Antique Car Museum is a must do. This interesting museum features rare and exotic cars – including the batmobile.

Be sure to remember Florida as you plan your next vacation. With interesting cities filled with ancient history, and miles and miles of beaches, there really is something for everyone.
